Privacy, in plain English.

Effective September 14, 2026

This policy is written the way the rest of the site is written: so you can actually read it. Here is what we collect, why, and what we never do.

What we collect, and why

  • Your email address, if you sign up for the newsletter. Signup is handled by beehiiv, our email platform, which stores your address and delivery data (opens, clicks) so we can send the newsletter and see what’s useful. You can unsubscribe with one click in any email, which removes you from the list.
  • Whatever you write us through the contact form. Form submissions are processed by Netlify, our hosting provider, and read by a person. We use them to reply to you and for nothing else.
  • Basic analytics. We use Google Analytics to see which pages help people and which don’t: pages visited, downloads clicked, and general (city-level) location. This involves cookies. We look at patterns, not people.
  • A small browser preference. If you dismiss the seasonal banner, your browser remembers that choice locally (localStorage). It never leaves your device.

Purchases

The workbook is sold through our checkout provider, which processes your payment and email so we can deliver the PDF and send free updates to it. We never see your full card details; payment processing is handled by the checkout platform and its payment processor.

What we never do

  • We never sell, rent, or trade your email address or any other information about you.
  • We never run advertising on this site and never share your information with advertisers.
  • We never make sales calls, and we never pass your details to insurance agents. The only way an agent hears from you is if you explicitly ask us for an introduction.

Who else touches the data

The services above (beehiiv, Netlify, Google Analytics, and our checkout provider) each process data under their own privacy policies as our service providers. We chose them because they’re established platforms; we share with them only what each needs to do its job.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from emails any time via the link in every email.
  • Ask us what we have about you, or ask us to delete it, by writing through the contact page. We’ll do it and confirm. California residents: this covers your rights to know and to delete; we don’t sell personal information, so there’s nothing to opt out of.
  • Block cookies in your browser; the site works fine without them.

Children

This site is about Medicare. It isn’t directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we’ll update the date above and say so in the newsletter. Questions: the contact page, answered by a person.
